7 Tips to Spring Clean Your Sleep

By Kathlyn Rodriguez
Ah, spring is in the air! It's that time of the year when flowers bloom, birds chirp, and we get the sudden urge to clean everything in sight. But wait, have you thought about spring cleaning your sleep? Just as you’re taking a duster to every nook and cranny of your house, your bed and bedtime habits also deserve some love and attention.

1. Let Fresh Air In

The small act of opening a window to let the sunlight in can achieve a lot, making it an easy first step in your spring clean. The fresh air invigorates your space, lifts your mood, and creates a more inviting atmosphere. Now it’s finally warm enough, in with the spring air and out with the winter gloom!

2. Pillow Palooza

Don't forget about your loyal pillows! Give them a fluff, a shake, and spin in the laundry - just be sure to follow their care instructions. (The Endy Customizable Pillows and Memory Foam Pillows have a removable, machine-washable cover for easy cleaning.) Your head will thank you for the fresh support during your nightly slumber.

3. Flip It Around

Rotate your mattress every three to six months to ensure even wear and tear. Doing this will make your mattress feel as good as new, and make sure you’re continuing to get great nights’ rest on it for a long time! The start of a new season is a great reminder to cross this off your to-do list.

4. Keep It Clean

Oops, did a late-night snack mishap leave a stain on your mattress? No worries! The Endy Mattress has a removable cover that you can easily spot clean or toss in the wash for a quick refresh. If you’re looking for an extra layer of protection, Endy’s Mattress Protector is waterproof to defend against even the worst spills.

5. Tidy Up Your Bedside Oasis

Now you’ve tackled your bed, it’s time to move on to the rest of your sleep environment. Declutter your nightstand and dresser by removing items you don't need or use regularly. Consider adding indoor plants to your bedroom to purify the air and add a touch of greenery. Low-maintenance plants like snake plants or pothos are great options.

6. Create a Bedtime Ritual

Now that your bedroom is sparkling clean and inviting, why not create a bedtime ritual? Make your bedroom a serene sanctuary by dimming lights, playing calming music or nature sounds, and ensuring a comfortable room temperature for optimal sleep. Sip on a soothing herbal tea like chamomile or lavender to relax your mind and body. (Make sure you opt for caffeine-free blends!)

7. Set a Bedtime

Just like when you were a kid, having a set bedtime (and wake-up time) helps regulate your body’s internal clock and will improve your sleep quality. And it’s just not for "school nights”! Do your best to maintain your sleep schedule on weekends too, to keep it consistent. Bonus points if you unplug from electronic devices 30 minutes before winding down, to avoid the blue light from your screens interfering with your sleep. With a little bit of elbow grease and some new nighttime routines, you can spring-clean your way to better sleep. Happy cleaning and sweet dreams!
